We have already discussed in our blog how AR technologies help to solve household chores. However, they are no less important in informative goals too. Of course, there are VR decisions for immersive education. Their objective is to provide a deeper immersion into the learning process. Nevertheless, AR decisions also let study some phenomena of the world.

Google and AR

For example, Google company has been using AR technologies since 2019 for some results in its searching system. In particular, when you search for some animals, you can see their 3D model. Despite the fact that it’s quite interesting and amusing, this function lets watch in detail an animal that can be dangerous in real life. Of course, you can find a duck or a dog everywhere. But seeing a scorpion, a tiger or a bear can be rather risky.

Dinosaurs in Augmented Reality

The developers of the company recently have added new "residents" to their AR world. Ten three-dimensional dinosaurs were added to the search results. Now we can see by our own eyes (or through the smartphone screen), how Brachiosaur, Velociraptor, Triceratops, or Spinosaur looked like.

The designers were studying and analyzing various resources to create the models of the dinosaurs. They worked with paleontologists and the team of Steven Spielberg's famous franchise “Jurassic Park”. Finally, they made detailed models that depict even the slightest changes in texture and color.

You can see the dinosaurs on iOS and Android platforms. However, Android provides more opportunities. In particular, their size can automatically fit the screen size. Moreover, Android users can see the roar and steps of a dinosaur.

It’s just needed to write one of the dinosaurs' names in the search box to see their solid models. Besides the species mentioned above, you can also see there Tyrannosaur, Pteranodon, Dilophosaur, Ankylosaur, Stegosaur, Parasaurolophus. Then press the button “See in 3D”. If your device supports ARKit and ARCore, you’ll also see the dinosaurs in your space.

Our Projects

Our development team also constantly works with AR technologies to create informative and useful projects. One of our projects was to develop the demo version of pizza with the receipt.

The project was created with the help of ARCore instrument developed for AR applications on Android platform. Room was used as the library. It’s the part of the architectural components of the platform. Picasso library was used to upload the images.

The file with the set of points, lines, surfaces, and textures is implemented to display the pizza model.

In the end, we created the pizza model, which appears after the device scans the QR-code. It can be enlarged, twisted, and watched from different angles. Its receipt can be scrolled. This opportunity will help you to take a fresh look at the process of cooking and optimize your time!
